Job Description
  • The position will be responsible for ensuring overall compliance with all the guidelines, directives, polices and circulars of the Regulators, Company and other statutory stakeholders.
Key Performance Areas Compliance
Compliance Audits:
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
  • Ensure that all investments and other operational transactions comply with all relevant legislation's, regulations and policies.
Compliance Monitoring:
  • Responsibility for identifying and monitoring Operational/Corporate/Investment activities and policy initiatives, with a view to identifying issues and ensuring compliance in accordance with the provisions of the PRA 2014.
  • Monitoring and testing new compliance technologies.
  • Monitoring of regulatory changes and ensure the dissemination of updates of regulations, rules or guidelines and periodic compliance changes to concerned offices/officers.
Statutory Reporting of Compliance:
  • Preparation of compliance reports on monthly and quarterly basis to the Board and the Commission.
  • Responsible for full disclosure and reporting of violations to appropriate authorities, including the Commission.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
  • The candidate must possesses a minimum educational qualification of first degree or its equivalent in addition to professional qualification in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Auditing, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Law, or in any other numerate or semi numerate field.
  • Experience in the financial/banking/Pension industry is preferred.
  • Must have a sound business judgment with the ability to proactively look at markets, regulatory trends and identify existing and emerging compliance issues.
  • MBA/MSc/MA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years post qualification work experience.
  • Experience in an Audit-related function at middle management level.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to manage market, liquidity and enterprise compliance.
  • Deep understanding of Compliance trends in the Pensions industry Clear understanding and knowledge of the business objectives and processes of various functions with the PFA.
  • Proven track record in the effective leadership and motivation of staff.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, VISIO and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships based on mutual trust and respect.
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills gained within a quality assurance environment.
