Job Title: Shift Engineer - Power
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Equipment check, control, maintenance, fault finding and trouble shooting
- Handle shift operations ensuring minimum breakdowns
- Monitor plant and equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduction of planned and unplanned downtime
- Provide regular process control checks, identify shortcomings and forthcoming obsolescence
- Initiate and support performance improvement action
- Review and recommend updates to Engineering policies and procedures
- Ensure all Health and Safety standards are met and that all equipment complies with Company and legal standards
Requirements
Education/Qualification:
- B.Eng/B.Tech/HND in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile Engineering or other relevant fields
Experience:
- The candidate should have 6 - 10 years experience in a similar role in Process Industries
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent understanding of power plant operations
- Hands - on workmanship for B check and C check maintenance
- Practical experience handling engine crank, oil circulation system, engine alignment, tapper system, turbo system, bearing and filter replacements, etc
- Knowledge of gas engines, crank, lube oil circulation system, cooling water pumping system
- Understanding of Engine mechanical alarm trip, Annuation panel DIO, AIO.
- Knowledge of breakdown/preventive maintenance practices for smooth shift operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft skills for preparing daily reports
- Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings/manuals
- Good inter-departmental communications for streamlined shift operations
