Job Description
- The ideal candidate should be a credit professional responsible for providing subject matter expertise and development on credit risk, with a prime focus on Standard Bank Africa, Personal and Business Bank .
- Supporting the delivery of a Credit accreditation / Certification process.
- This role is critical in terms of developing the partnership between Credit & Sales; driving sales, improving turnaround times, reducing reworks and improving overall credit capability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge
- B.Sc in any Social Science course. Additional qualifications will be an added advantage
- Comprehensive technical credit skills with an ability to deal with top end Commercial lending proposals
- Good business awareness and specific industry awareness
- Detailed knowledge of risk management policy, procedures & pricing
- Working knowledge of credit products in Personal and Business Banking
Experience
- Proven track record in the successful delivery of credit risk management (having held a Delegated Authority with a mandate of approximately R10m)
- Experience in a Relationship Management role, preferably in the Commercial Banking Sales environment
- Facilitated Learning and Development interventions
- A demonstrable record of having developed others using a coaching approach
Key Performance Indicators
- Reduced number of AFF reworks
- Improved turnaround times for credit applications
- The number of quality credit certifications achieved within agreed timescales
- Contribution to the generation of sales income through involvement in credit applications/deals
- A high level of customer satisfaction from stakeholders on the standard of SME support delivered
- A high level of customer satisfaction in the standard of delivery of local development interventions
- Maintenance of a robust recording system for credit quality and progress towards accreditation
- Delivery of development activity as agreed with Business Heads.
- Monitor progress to certification through provision of MIS and feedback to Credit Capabilities and appropriate Business Partners.

Internal relationships:
- Network and negotiate with stakeholders including Retail Banking Sales and Credit Directors, Regional Centre colleagues, and Learning & Development.
External relationships:
- Network with Credit and Learning & Development professionals to share developments, best practice and actively promote Standard Bank Credit SME activity , external vendors involved in local credit development interventions
