Our client is a uniquely themed Lounge/Bar in Lagos seeking to fill the following position of a General Manager.

Job Title: General Manager

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop an innovative and attractive concept for the lounge/bar to ensure a consistent stream of customers.
  • Drive the objective of increasing customer database.
  • Develop excellent customer service process and ensure conformity by all staff.
  • Develop a culture of actively seeking feedback from customers on a regular basis, get to know the regular guests and acknowledge and reward repeat customers.
  • Ensure strict control of stock through the management of wastages, correct practice and procedure behind the bar and on the floor.
  • Ensure that in house control systems/audit requirements are adhered to.
  • Closely examine all management accounts, daily and weekly operating controls, key performance indicators and composite figures in order to assess company performance.
  • Manage monthly stock-takes and review results and variances with relevant departments.
  • To support the recruitment and selection employees to the agreed staffing levels using cost effective recruitment methods.
  • To ensure all staff are well briefed on their responsibilities and are given constant supervision and motivation on all aspects of their work and provide a clear handover during shift changes to ensure that each shift is reviewed and handovers/briefings are carried out.
  • Assisting in management/running of staff meetings, ensuring the team are fully briefed and action points are recorded and achieved
  • Support the delivery and measurement of promotional activities, including staff incentives
Requirements
  • A minimum of a good 1st degree in any of the social sciences
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Operations Manager in a bar or similar organization.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent Administrative skill
  • Ability to manage people
  • A good understanding of cost management
  • Ability to work long hours
