Job Title: Shift Engineer - Power
Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities
- Equipment check, control, maintenance, fault finding and trouble shooting.
- Handle shift operations ensuring minimum breakdowns.
- Monitor plant and equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduction of planned and unplanned downtime.
- Provide regular process control checks, identify shortcomings and forthcoming obsolescence.
- Initiate and support performance improvement action.
- Review and recommend updates to Engineering policies and procedures.
- Ensure all Health and Safety standards are met and that all equipment complies with Company and legal standards.
Job Requirements
Education/Qualification:
- The candidate should possess B. Eng or B. Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile Engineering or other relevant fields.
Experience:
- The candidate should have 6 - 8 years experience in a similar role in Process Industries - Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Plastics, Cement etc.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent understanding of power plant operations.
- Hands - on workmanship for B check and C check maintenance.
- Practical experience handling engine crank, oil circulation system, engine alignment, tapper system, turbo system, bearing and filter replacements, etc.
- Knowledge of gas engines, crank, lube oil circulation system, cooling water pumping system.
- Understanding of Engine mechanical alarm trip, Annuation panel DIO, AIO.
- Knowledge of breakdown/preventive maintenance practices for smooth shift operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft skills for preparing daily reports.
- Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings/manuals.
- Good inter-departmental communications for streamlined shift operations.
