Job Title: Front Desk Officer

Reports To: HR Advisor - Employee Relations
Function: Human Resources

Purpose Statement:

To provide world class switchboard and reception services in the company. Promote the company’s image in a pleasant and professional manner.

Key Accountabilities
  • Welcome all visitors to the organisation in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Source and provide relevant information to callers as appropriate.
  • Sign in visitors using the log provided, issuing visitor Passes to be worn at all times.
  • Check staff ID on entering the company premises, issuing escorted Visitor Passes to any staff member without appropriate ID. Copied from: hotnigerianjobs.com
  • Check the information on the system to assist with directions to meeting rooms, etc.
  • Keep reception areas tidy, ensuring all crockery and cutlery is clean, managing the coffee machine and ensuring adequate supplies for refreshments available.
  • Ensure all relevant information e.g. employee extension numbers are available for prompt call dissemination.
  • Answer calls coming through the company’s main switchboard swiftly and efficiently, directing them to the appropriate department/individual.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • This position requires a graduate with a University Degree in the Social Sciences or related discipline with at least 2 years experience in a customer service role, previous experience of switchboard and reception work is desirable. Copied from: www.hotnigerianjobs.com
  • Pleasant and articulate personality with excellent telephone manners.
  • Flexible and mature approach to issues with excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own initiative. good sense of humour, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
