Pathfinder International is a sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) organization dedicated to creating access to and improving the quality of family planning, reproductive health, abortion, and community- and facility-based HIV and AIDS care and services. In partnership with host country governments and nongovernmental organizations, we train facility-based health care providers to improve both the quality and range of their technical and counseling skills.

About the Project
  • Global Fund project will support comprehensive HIV services in areas, namely Anti-Retroval Treatment (ART), Preventive ofMother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) programming, HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT) and Integration of HIV and TB with Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services.
Program Overview
  • Pathfinder International, as Sub-Recipient (SR) has signed a grant for the period ending December 2017 with the Principal Recipient (PR), Family Health International (FHI360) funded by the Global Fund.
  • Pathfinder will support comprehensive HIV services in areas, namely Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART), Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) programming, HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT), and Integration of HIV and TB with Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services in Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Jigawa, Katsina and Gombe States.
Position Purpose
  • The Program Officer provides programmatic support to the Ass. Director, GF_HIV
Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Ass. Director, GF-HIV in monitoring and liaising with state teams in planning, designing and implementing interventions
  • Assist to create a timeline or schedules to ensure that the timeline is met
  • Liaise with procurement committee on commodities for approval ensuring material needs for procurement. Subsequently follow up with vendors on all supplies awarded, ensuring adherence to specifications, quality and delivery timelines
  • Collate reports coming in from states’ managers and processing them appropriately before onward submission to Project Coordinator.
  • Maintain proper filing system for program documents
  • Document unit’s meetings and circulate to all relevant persons
  • Maintain the daily operations of the office
  • Assist in project contractual agreements
  • Maintain contacts and liaise with other partners and government agencies as directed by the Project Coordinator
  • Collate timesheets of project staff from the field
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field. Post graduate degree is an added advantage.
  • At least 3-4 years knowledge of experience working on a multidisciplinary HIV project team
  • Ability to travel (50%) to core Northern states.
  • Good oral and /written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to listening audience.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English in addition to Hausa language required.
