Job position: Facilities Officer

Location: Lagos

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Purpose of job: 
To contribute to the achievement of British Council objectives by supporting the effective and efficient planning, management, delivery and evaluation of facilities, estate, and procurement; and maintenance of an appropriate working and living environment for staff and visitors.

The post holder will assist the Facilities Manager in-country to manage all British Council facilities, estate, office vehicles and procurement as defined in the Regional and Country plans.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
Working with the Facilities Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the following;

Facilities services and project delivery
To assist facilities managers’ in-country to manage facilities, estate, office vehicles, and procurement as defined in the Regional and Country Delivery Plans in all key sectors of the British Council programme.

Events Support and Management
To support the management and delivery of events for all BC Nigeria activities wherever they are located in partnership with the Administrative Assistant (where available) in that location. This includes management of transport and travel plans, event management, venue hire, liaison with contractors, liaison and partnership with business and programme teams

Financial planning and management
To assist with effective facilities management planning, budget management and business risk requirements to ensure expenditure and other targets are achieved effectively.

Line management and Professional Development

  • To provide effective support for staff managed, in line with British Council brand and values
  • To lead staff in pro-active and effective manner.
  • To actively identify opportunities for staff training and development (attendance at training courses, self-directed learning and cross team working) Copied: hotnigerianjobs.com
