Job: Project Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Information
  • Are you passionate about making a difference?
  • Do you have experience in managing innovative projects? We are looking to hire a Project Officer, who will support our innovative projects.
  • Our projects are aimed at applying technology to solve social challenges in Nigeria. As project officer, you would be able to support multiple projects, with a range of stakeholders including civil society, corporations, development partners, students, the software developer community and subject matter experts in a wide range of sectors.
Responsibilities
  • Working on a range of projects, in line with project scope and goals, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Assisting with developing project documentation including proposals, project plans and reports.
  • Developing project documentation including proposals, project plans and reports.
  • Achieving project milestone deliverables/timelines, tracking and reporting on project metrics.
  • Organising and supporting the Project Manager in the facilitation of events including stakeholder workshops, ideation sessions and hackathons.
  • Developing content of all external communication (website, press releases, banners, social media etc) in collaboration with the Communications Manager.
  • Using online and offline channels to communicate information on project to ensure maximum participation of critical stakeholders.
  • Managing the logistics of all activities.
  • Managing teams of software developers to deliver technology projects to a high level of quality.
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience of project management techniques and knowledge.
  • Understanding of contemporary social issues in Nigeria and efforts towards their resolution.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects in an NGO, development agency or commercial organisation.
  • Social self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
  • Understanding of contemporary social issues in Nigeria and efforts towards their resolution.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships
