Job Title: Graphic Designer
Location: Lagos
What We're Looking For
- We are seeking a thoughtful and talented graphic designer to join our growing team.
- We are a group of highly energetic and creative individuals who strive to create high-quality, innovative content in an ever-evolving field.
- The graphic designer position is responsible for creating, supporting, and art directing all visual content and designs.
- While reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, this position will have creative freedom and be responsible for managing his/her work and relationships with the team.
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to
Design a wide variety of content, including:
- Notebooks, brochures, calendars, digital ads, annual reports, infographics, data visualizations, e-books and more
- Thoughtfully integrate writing and design to create the best visual stories and experience.
- Help drive content strategy by providing feedback into creative briefs and contributing ideas throughout the creative process
- Take direction from creative briefs and collaborate with the team to create strategic content that fulfills our business goals
- Communicate directly with internal stakeholders to successfully and efficiently meet the deliverable requirements of a project
- Partner with web developers to create responsive mini-sites and landing pages
- Continuously discover and share found inspiration and new industry best practices to maximize efficiency and creativity
- Manage multiple projects and remain flexible through revisions while keeping a keen attention to detail
- Eloquently present and defend design work.
Requirements
Things that should be in your background:
- Minimum 3 years of design experience (Agency/print production experience is an advantage)
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite
- Typography& illustration skills
- Proficient understanding of multimedia design
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
- Creative problem solving skills, conceptual thinking and a strong portfolio
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to find creative, unorthodox solutions to complex challenges
- Collaborative, team-player mentality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Openness to feedback and willingness to take direction
- Ability to assert ideas, take initiative and drive projects.
Other Attributes that are an Advantage:
- Content marketing and/or content design experience
- Experience working with writers and editors
- Ability to work with and direct web developers
- Illustration skills
- Data visualization experience and/or solid math skills
- Calm, flexible and able to work under pressure or with short deadlines
- Understanding of accessible design and accessibility standards.
