Job Title: Director, Finance

Ref: PSE302

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities
  • The Finance Director is responsible for the financial and fiscal management of company operations and provides leadership and coordination in the business planning, accounting and budgeting activities of the company.
  • Provide leadership in the development of short and long term strategic financial objectives.
  • Direct all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization including the audit system
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization
  • Ensure credibility of the finance department by providing timely and accurate information and reports
  • Work with senior executives to drive business growth through strategy formulation and planning
  • Participate in developing new business including identifying new funding opportunities, drafting budgets, and determining cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery approach
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities, strategic plans, projects/programs etc
  • Oversee the processes for financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting, cash and treasury management
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard assets; ensure effectiveness of controls

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 1st degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or a relevant Masters degree is an added advantage
  • Professional accounting certification
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
  • Experience in utilities management, power or energy management is preferable
  • Excellent commercial and business experience
