Responsibilities
  • The CEO provides the strategic vision, planning and operational leadership and is responsible for developing and implementing high-level strategies, making corporate decisions and managing the overall operations and resources of the company.
  • Undertake strategic and operational planning in collaboration with senior management and appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain an effective organizational structure to support performance objectives that reflect industry and market requirements
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with government agencies, other organizations, communities, industry representatives, media and other stakeholders
  • Ensure efficient utilization of financial resources
  • Provide strong and effective leadership to the work force; motivate and inspire employees
  • Ensure effective communication of the company’s strategy, objectives and performance to create a positive corporate image
  • Report to the board on timely basis, all relevant information regarding company operations
  • Drive business growth and performance improvement

Requirements


  • Minimum of a 1st degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with an MBA or a relevant Masters degree
  • Minimum of 15 years industry experience with at least 5 years experience at senior management level
  • Thorough understanding of electric utility-related issues from concept to commissioning such as land acquisition, site permitting, environmental clearances etc
  • Experience in developing long-term business plans and strategies, presenting investment proposals at the board level and managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
  • Experience in negotiating commercial contracts, financing agreements with lenders, and greenfield power projects will be an added advantage
