Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a major on line retail store organisation. The company is looking to recruit a Head Information Technologist for their operations.

Job description

  • Managing and directing website technical structure, Design and Aesthetics, Content, Navigation, Information Architecture, Branding/Marketing, Performance, and Functionality efforts to positively impact e-commerce efforts
  • Drive the planning and execution of all IT strategies, policies, initiatives, and actions that leverage technology resources organisation wide and align performance delivery with the business plan
  • He will report to the MD/CEO


Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:

  • Serve as a key business partner and contribute to business strategy development and key business decisions by proactively aligning all aspects of the workforce to business strategies and operations.
  • Ownership and management of Customer Experience including Design & Aesthetics, Content, Navigation, Information Architecture, Branding/Marketing, Performance, Functionality
  • Implementing online security and coordinating all online transaction and marketing efforts.
  • Ownership and management of Internet marketing including social media integration
  • Ownership and management of Technical Infrastructure
  • Research, identify and provide technology recommendations for optimal business effectiveness.
  • Reviewing current ICT Architecture and company’s Specifications
  • Responsible for website maintenance, renegotiating contracts with suppliers and payment services and staying up to date on any software or data management trends.
  • Design, recommend and facilitate implementation of solutions to ensure alignment with the Company’s overall direction
  • Act as CIO for given business unit(s) and independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Ownership and management of SEO measurements and monitoring methodologies
  • Apply critical systems thinking to anticipate and prevent problems before they occur.
  • Sell new ways of thinking to the leadership and continually drive improvements in the systems and processes that will push the company to the next level.
  • Creating and influencing organization wide IT initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to address and satisfy the strategic needs of the business.
  • Forge professional and productive relationships with key operational partners.
  • Recommends the purchase of appropriate hardware and software.
  • Ensure that data security and system audit is adequate and failsafe.
  • Periodically evaluate available systems in use and carry out, on approval, necessary implementations to resolve issues and improve general system efficiency.
  • Constantly reviewing service level agreements with external consultants
  • Determination of software and hardware requirement
  • Manages performance of staff in the department


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in IT or Marketing or Management Information Systems or any relevant technical field
  • A Masters degree and/or IT certification is preferred.
  • 5 – 10 years experience managing e-commerce websites
  • Good knowledge of web programming language(s)
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills - Oral & Written
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Result-oriented
  • Rigorous and in a continuous personal & professional improvement process
