Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a multinational chemical company to recruit a Technical Account manager - Food technology - for its West African operations.

Job description
  • The Technical Account manager - Food technology- will have the responsibility of managing business account, product management in designated region and provide tailor-made commercial support to assigned customers.
  • He/she is to report to the Managing Director- West Africa
  • The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
  • Collecting/analysing data on market information (e.g. products/ customers/competitors) on a constant basis
  • Conduct sales negotiations
  • Communicate supply shortage/allocation to affected customers
  • Adherence to and compliance with the company’s guidelines and procedures
  • Carry out all the requirements of the function timeously and effectively within the department
  • Acting as first/single point of contact for company’s ENH division.
  • Regular travelling required for customer visits (proper cost/benefit awareness)
  • Manage price negotiations according to ENH marketing guidance.
  • Communicate internally customer needs; both from a technical and commercial point of view, in the appropriate form (e.g. visit reports)
  • Pro-actively conduct/collect market intelligence/relevant information
  • Support technical visits (of experts) and establish/sustain/develop customer relationships
  • Interacts as team player (multi-)cultural aware, commercially meaningful, rational/fair, and technically sound.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in relevant industry, and not less than 3 years in sales.
  • Technical or sales experience in food ingredients, preferably in the range emulsifiers, hydrocolloids (stabilizers), Flavours (systems), vitamins, colorizing agents.
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office (Intermediary level).
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Well organized, meticulous and able to plan and prioritize activities.
  • Perform well under pressure.
  • Able to work as an integral member of a team as well as individualy.
  • Sound communication and negotiation skills/ passion.
  • Solid hunting mentality.
  • Proficiency in English & French, German optional.
  • Experience in application technology with technical sales experience will be an advantage.
