Job Title: Substation Engineers

Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development of physical layout of equipment, protection and control logic, elementary and wiring diagrams. They are also responsible for the specifications and procurement of engineering equipment; and for the development of design scope and cost estimates.
- Provide technical and supervisory support in the design of the substation and various substation systems
- Prepare equipment specifications, proposal evaluations and requisitions
- Develop specifications and cost estimates for transmission and substation facilities
- Negotiate or provide guidance for negotiating transmission and substation design construction contracts
- Select and manage engineering and construction consultants, contractors and suppliers of equipment for transmission and substation facilities
- Coordinate equipment delivery and design engineering in line with construction schedules
- Monitor the construction of the substation and various electrical systems to ensure conformity with plans and specifications
- Test materials, equipments and systems as required
- Undertake complex engineering calculations to ensure safety and performance of equipment and systems
- Undertake research, prepare reports and feasibility studies to support strategic decision making
- Responsible for budget, manpower requirements and relevant controls associated with the area of responsibility
- Organize, supervise and develop assigned staff
Requirements
- Minimum of a 1st degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years electrical engineering experience
- Experience in Power Generation and Substation design is preferable
- Prior utility experience is an added advantage
- Knowledge of applicable standards and safety codes
