Job Title: Relay Engineer
Ref: PSJ103
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support on selection, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of protective relaying, metering, voltage regulator and control systems. The role involves root cause analysis, performance monitoring and defining outage work and maintenance priorities.
- Analyze and resolve issues on plant protective relaying and control systems (working with staff and vendors as required)
- Conduct diagnostics and trouble shooting
- Perform engineering evaluations of plant protective relaying and control equipment and propose effective recommendations for achieving plant objectives
- Define outage work scope and assemble engineering work packages as necessary
- Relay setting, adjustment, calibration and repairs
- Conduct relay testing
- Create drawing packages for substation Relay Protection that include wiring diagrams, schematics, protection panels, one-line and three-line diagrams.
- Perform load calculations for load panels, battery systems and other various substation components
- Prepare capital project justification, installation testing and acceptance testing oversight
Requirements
- Minimum of a 1st Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience
- Knowledge of design and procurement of Relays
