We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Deputy Program Manager

Location: Damaturu, Yobe

Job Summary
  • Following the direction of the WASH Program Manager, the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Deputy Program Manager (WASH DPM) will be based in Damaturu Office.
  • The WASH DPM will be responsible for running and supervising sanitation and hygiene plus NFIs programs at all stages of the project management cycle.
  • He/she will also be responsible for accomplishing the program objectives and outcomes within the contextual constraints.
  • The DPM ensures the WASH (PHP/NFI) team completes the defined activities while adhering to internal standards and contractual obligations.
  • The WASH DPM also has responsibilities regarding capacity building of staff; shaping and evolving a social behavioral change and communication strategy for hygiene and sanitation promotions, humanitarian needs identification through needs assessments, monitoring of the evolving situation; context analysis to contribute to the development of future programs and internal coordination.
Requirements
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • A Degree in Public Health or equivalent in a field related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and or training/courses specific to WASH in development contexts (such as Bio force Institute graduates) + minimum of 5 years of working experience.
  • Applied skills on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene projects management.
  • Interpersonal skills (team management, communication, reporting, autonomy, pedagogy, planning and organizational skills).
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • Experience in the International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) and Humanitarian context.
  • Experience in Personnel Management and administration.
