GNOC & CABLE STATION MANAGER

Job Description: To be responsible for the efficient running of the Global Network Operations Centre and cable station in Lagos Nigeria with end to end responsibility for the operations and maintenance of the MAIN ONE CABLE SYSTEM (‘MAIN ONE’) Network and interconnecting transmission facilities. Oversee 24X7 operations in all terminal locations and ensure network quality objectives are achieved through effective planning, controls and pro-active management. Ensure skills development of operational staff to fulfill operational requirements and drive process improvement and automation initiatives to improve service delivery and reporting to customers.
Requirements
- At least a Bachelors degree in Information Technology/Electronics Engineering or a related degree.
- Minimum of 10 years work experience, 5 years in Network Operations and Support Maintenance with at least two years managing NOC operations, preferably for a large ISP, ASP, web hosting facility, data centre or telecommunications operator.
- Understanding of WAN technologies and SDH networks, Internet Technologies and TCP/IP-based routing protocols, Network Management Systems, Networking Certifications,
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage technical complexity
- Detail oriented, good follow through, able to meet deadlines
