Main Purpose of Job
- The post holder will be expected Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
Roles and Responsibilities
What will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
- Carryout electrical preventive /corrective maintenance and repair works to required standard as prescribed by UK Electrical regulation
- Regular health and safety checks/compliance in the BDHC estate.
- Electrical installation, testing & inspection, maintenance of electrical equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools at all BDHC location to BS standard.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with uk regulations
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Installation and maintenance of washing/drying machines to required standard.
- To undertake call out duties as appropriate.
- Carry out repairs on all site equipment including pumps/ generators / HVAC / switch gear lighting and power circuits
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- City and Guilds qualified preferably advanced certificate: ONC/HNC
- 3-5 years relevant experience with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude
- Have knowledge of UK standards BS7671 and working practices
- Sufficient familiarity with UK schematic and electrical, diagrams/illustrations
