Job Position: Executive Chef - Nigerian Cuisine

Description
  • The Chef De Cuisine is fully responsible for the day to day operations of the Nigerian Kitchen.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and order all items on Daily Market List for the preparation of local Nigerian meals
  • Responsible for maintaining food quality and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Work closely with other unit Chefs in menu development and presentation.
  • Work closely with other Chefs to standardize recipes
  • Responsible along in maintaining overall food cost within budgetary guidelines
  • Ensure that proper par stocks of all food items are maintained
  • Maintain standards of hygiene
  • Must be actively involved in recruiting cooks and monitoring their performance
  • Set standards and maintain food presentation quality in the outlet at all times
  • Execute all production and plating in a timely, efficient manner and to meet and exceed guest expectations
  • Source out new products and supplies to constantly develop menus
  • Remain on top of culinary trends & seek always to improve Nigerian culinary trends
  • Responsible for scheduling of staff in the Nigerian kitchen and ensuring that schedules are posted in a timely manner
  • Ensure that proper par stocks of all food items are maintained
  • Responsible for motivating kitchen staff and maintaining discipline at all times
  • Work very closely with the Pastry Chef in developing new desserts
  • Any other duties as assigned by the company.
Qualifications and Skills
  • BSC/HND in any of the following, Administration, Management, Catering and Hospitality Management or any related discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts;
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • The ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Customer Service & Respond promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Meets commitments.
  • Team player.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with cost.
  • Minimum of 6 years post work experience. With at least 4 years industry related experience.
  • Age range-Minimum 28 years.
