Job Title: Graphic Design, Layout, Editing and Proof Reading Consultant

Scope of Work
  • Under the supervision of the DNPM, the designer will be assigned to the following task(s):
    • Proof-reading Editing, Graphic design (including graphics for tables, diagrams and image) Layout for digital and hard copy publication
    • Provide necessary design,  formatting and  layout of all documents assigned during the period of engagement
    • Ensures the standardized  formatting of texts,  figures,  and their captions;
    • Ensures that the Table  of Contents,  List of Tables,  and List of Figures adhere to correct pagination of the documents;
    • Prepare printing package (all  layout and design  files) of documents assigned
  • Conceptualize, design and layout WINNN Technical Manuals (ECD, Care Group, Cost of Diet, HEA etc.)  Case Studies, State Briefs, Position Papers, SOPs,  WINNN End of programme progress report, Closeout invitation and promotional materials, Pullup banners and Posters,  publications and communication information Materials
  • Ensuring that the design of the materials is consistent with DFID and Save the Children’s  Branding  Guidelines
  • Designs should be positive and empowering and reflect the diversity of the WINNN programme in terms of equality, duty of care, ethical considerations, ethnicity, culture, gender, diversity etc.
  • Make adjustment in design as proposed by the DNP.
Deliverables And Verifiable Indicators:
  • The consultant shall submit Final printable  e-copy of the design  and layout of all assigned documents
Deliverables:
  • The designer is expected to design and provide layout designs of documents listed below in accordance with the DFID and Save the Children Branding Guidelines and Identity Standards Publication Templates
Tasks:
  • Design and layout the 6 documents listed below as per DFID/SCI Guidelines and Standards:
    • Submit at least 2 preliminary layouts for discussion with the DNPM
    • Revise the selected layout, design and layout the publication
    • Ensure all corrections have been inserted
    • Prepare electronic files for the printer

Micronutrients (5 pages), Food Demo (2 pages), CMAM (2) ,ECD (7), Care Group (7), V&A (3) (26 Total pages A4)

25th August 2017 (12 working days)
  • State Collaborative Outcome Reports ( 82 pages A4)
  • A Compendium of Position Papers (50 pages A4)
  • WINNN Case Studies (28 pages, A4)
15th September 2017 (6 working days)
  • WINNN State Briefs : (11 pages, A4)
  • First 1,000 days Cook Book; a guide to MIYCN Food demonstrations (30 pages, A5)
  • MIYCN Recipe Cards ( 12 pages, A6)
Payment Schedule:
  • 1st instalment - upon submission of the design and layout of the first set of documents
  • 2nd  installment - upon submission of the design and layout of the second set of documents
  • 3rd and Final installment - upon submission of the design and layout of the third set of documents
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum educational requirement: Advanced Graduate degree in Humanities or Social Sciences
  • At least 10 years’ experience in design and layout work for development projects
  • Excellent creative skills and advanced command over a full range of design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
  • Experience working with printing and production matters Fluency in English
