Brunel Energy Nigeria - Our client, a leading supplier of turbomachinery to the Oil & Gas industry. They require 4 experienced Control Systems Engineers for the installation & commissioning of Heavy Duty Gas Turbines in Nigeria, is currently recruiting suitably qualified candidates, to fill the vacant position below:

Job Description
  • The successful applicants will work closely with Project Managers, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to safely supervise and lead the installation and commissioning activities for Heavy Duty Gas Turbines. 
Duties and Responsibilities
The performance and supervision of these tasks in autonomy:
  • Understand design and standard documents in their various formats: drawings, specifications, ITN and other Internal Technical Normalization documents, material lists (Bill Of Materials), technical manuals for control systems and specific components/sub-systems, NIC, TIL, procedures, etc. All these documents can be available either in Russian or in English languages;
  • Use the BUYER tools to retrieve technical documents: EDM, IBM iMAN and new Oracle BOM/MRP system, Support Central, etc;- Ensure the correct SUPPLIER installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning practices are followed throughout the project, filling and/or requesting subcontractors to fill the relevant check lists;
  • Supervise the positioning and wiring of Control Panels such as Turbine Control Panel (UCP), Auxiliary Panels of any type, Direct Current Panel (DCP), battery charger and battery cells, Generator Control & Protection Panel (GCPP), Motor Control Center (MCC), etc, done by BUYER or subcontractors;
  • Supervise LV cables laying, cables integrity check (meggering), cables termination and connection and point to point check done by BUYER or subcontractors;
  • Supervise the fabrication and installation of the field electrical and instrumental arrangements, done by BUYER or subcontractors, particularly electrical hook up, pneumatic hook up, primary hook up and field wiring;
  • Perform the integrity check and first power-up of the Control Panel;
  • Perform troubleshooting of the control panel hardware, replacing faulty cards with spare ones, setting Berg jumpers and downloading configuration software;
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Windows NT/2000 and its software components on the HMI (Human Machine Interface) and other PC used in the control system;
  • Download and troubleshoot control Software to the Control Panel;- Configure and troubleshoot LAN (Local Area Network);
  • Calibrate and test any type of field instruments, according to P&I and instrument list, using the necessary tools and filling the relevant check list/certificate;
  • Execute loops check for any type of instrument;
  • Perform calibration of gas turbine control servo-mechanisms (fuel valves, IGV, nozzles, etc)
  • Calibrate pressure-regulating valves;Edit the existing control software if required to rectify non-conformities as per Engineering Dept instructions, implement sequence changes required from Engineering Dept, customize the control system to the site conditions, modify the animated displays on the HMI, etc. Any change shall be implemented upon approval by the relevant Engineering Dept;
  • Verify the correct implementation of control software as requested from control specification (if present);
  • Energize, configure, test and calibrate auxiliary systems normally integrated in the Control Panel, such as Bently Nevada vibration monitoring system (3300 and 3500 series) including no contact probes, accelerometers, velocity probes and humming detectors (acoustic probes);
  • MSA or similar gas detection systems; fire fighting system (with direct assistance from OEM Vendors for troubleshooting of major problems); Torquemeter readout monitors; air inlet self-cleaning control system (if applicable, i.e. jet pulse); Etc.
  • Energize MCC and DCP panels, setting all protection relays as per specification for each load.
  • Start-up Low Voltage and Medium Voltage auxiliary motors, checking direction of rotation and current consumption.
Requirements
About you:
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics or equivalent.
  • Strong safety record.
  • Extensive experience in the installation and commissioning of Heavy Duty Gas Turbines.
What We Offer
  • Approximately $250USD per day (NET)
  • Includes all travel, visas, taxes and living expenses.
  • Commencing in October, the roster will be for 30 days on, 30 days off - the project is likely to extend for 12+ months.
  • Day rate expectations are at approximately $250USD per day (NET).
