Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a multinational company; a global merchandiser of commodities and processor of agricultural goods to recruit an Accountant for its Nigerian operations.

Job description
  • The Accountant will be responsible for business plan, budgeting and forecasting processes. S/He will ensure efficient accounting and record keeping, analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial documents to assess accuracy and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • He/she is to report to the Financial Controller
  • The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in coordination of Yearly Budget and Reforecast processes, business plan. Input of data in Magnitude.
  • Asist in the yearly audit
  • Asist in enforcing and implementing internal, group procedures and policies.
  • AX Roll-Out: Asisting in validating and mapping of local accounts with Group Chart of Accounts and in the definition of the analytical structure
  • Daily entry and processing of journals.
  • Monitor and reconcile cash movements on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Collate information to file and make payments for mandatory payroll, taxes and social benefits. Ensure all documents are in order.
  • Key user of “Microsoft AX Dynamics”
  • Assist in month end closing process in accounting (Microsoft AX Dynamics); ensure accurate and timely information in the Balance sheet & P&L within the C-Package. G&A, Inventory, Commercial margin in the S-Package and adhere to strict reporting timelines.
  • Any other requests made by superiors.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant experience in the FMCG/retail trading industry
  • Chartered accountant or equivalent is required, Minimum HND is mandatory.
  • Strong accounting experience in a multinational company applying IFRS
  • Exposure to budgeting & cost control principles
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the same capacity
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX is advantageous.
  • Energetic and motivated person with hands on approach with good communication, analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, trustworthy and flexible
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Ability to facilitate and co-ordinate multiple priorities, works well within a team and responds quickly to management requests.
  • Ability to show clear accountability and ownership of issues within your scope of responsibilities
