Job description

• Manages the technical and commercial aspects of the service centres and workshops to include but not limited to, coordination of engineering activities, continuous improvement, determining staffing requirements, mentoring employees, and evaluating operational effectiveness.
• The job is primarily located in Lagos but has responsibilities in other parts of the country including Port Harcourt and Abuja.

ResponsibilitiesThe Service Manager functions include but are not limited to:

• Liaison with F.G. Wilson.
• Arranging training for technical staff.
• Supervising recruitment of technical staff.
• General administration of workshop.
• Liaison with customers.
• Customer support.
• Business development.
• Sales of maintenance and service contracts.
• Management and follow-up of service teams.
• Development of service points in Port Harcourt, Abuja, etc.
• Development of workshop business.
• Placing orders for spare parts stock.
• All other related tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Preferred candidate is an expat with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Nigeria.
• University/College degree, with specific training and background in management. A graduate degree would be an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industry with additional related work experience
• High energy and commitment to business results
• Strong experience with F.G. Wilson Generators.
• Strong consultative, communication and influence skills
• Excellent general business acumen, demonstrated analytical and creative thinking ability
• Strong computer skills with MS Office
• Strong operational knowledge/experience and skills
• Experience in Nigeria would be an advantage.
