Responsibilities
  • The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for providing Project Engineering/Management support for SNEPCO Deepwater Asset Engineering work packages.
  • The position will lead a team of engineers based in a matrix organisation to design,procure,fabricate,install and commission minor modifications and small brownfield projects on producing assets.
  • She / He will take over Front End Engineering Design (FEED) documentation,review and validate data,engage key stakeholders and determine the resource requirements to deliver.
  • This role will develop project plans,budget and key project management database as well as secure approval to execute viable project proposals.
  • The Senior Project Engineer has responsibility to deliver safe,cost/schedule effective and efficient projects and will be looked up to as an important contributor to ongoing project management and strategic cost leadership practices within the Deepwater Projects Group.
In particular the position’s project management accountabilities include:
  • Delivery and Ownership of Project Engineering Discipline Deliverables for minor modifications & asset engineering projects - e.g. Basis for Design,Project Execution Plan,Risk Management Plan,Interface Management Plan,etc
  • Managing multiple interfaces that include operations,engineering and other projects activities; including preparation of (or contribution to) simultaneous operations plans.
  • Manage engineering changes on allocated Asset Engineering work packages
  • Pre-qualify contractors,tender,evaluate bids and award asset engineering work packages
  • Management reporting on all assigned projects
  • Ensure that all discipline control deliverables and responsibilities defined for the various work package are carried out.
  • Ensure integration of Operations Readiness team throughout design,construction and commissioning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of integrity test procedure manuals for assigned projects.
  • Maintain good communications with the relevant Communities and Statutory bodies,and ensure that all required permits (Statutory and Company) are obtained on time;

Requirements
  • A recognized Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent. Possess a minimum of 8 years of facilities engineering experience, 4 of which must be as a project engineer, preferably in the offshore environment.
  • Good skill and experience of Project Engineering/ Project Management techniques, tools and practices.
  • Solid background in most aspects of EP project execution including design, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Be able to support process improvement initiatives
  • Good understanding of Simultaneous Operation management on producing assets, including strong commitment to HSSE.
  • Demonstrate ability to carry out after-action reviews, document and communicate learning.
  • Awareness of key customer and stakeholder needs and business drivers, including economic, political, environmental, and social issues.
  • Demonstrated capability to proactively implement plans and following through execution to meet project milestones. Should be skilled in project planning and tracking viz, cost, schedule and quality.
  • Ability to deal with substantial uncertainty and multiple, often conflicting goals and priorities. Provides clear and decisive leadership in an environment of many competing priorities and diverse activities and issues.
  • Ability to work and manage in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
  • Good supervisory qualities and experience.
  • Excellent Communication skills for management of activities and effective engagement of peers, leadership and third parties.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in driving change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to influence and develop relationships across disciplines and culture, be comfortable coaching and motivating others, and delivering through others.
  • Familiar with project development challenges in Nigeria or in other regions with similar challenges.
  • Skilful at leading through influence.
  • Values and is open to listening to stakeholders perspectives, maintain composure under pressure while providing clear and decisive leadership.
