Role Summary/Purpose:
The commercial Manager is a key Role in the Sales & commercial organization of GE Thermal business, using GE know-how and processes in an international context. Responsible for all aspects of contract management, including proposal development, risk management and mitigation, specification compliance, scope development, transactional pricing, customer negotiations, customer communications and issue resolution
Essential Responsibilities:
- Build, prepare and negotiate commercial offers (to include the preparation of terms and conditions and internal costing information) following on from the receipt of customer RFQ’s;
- Coordinate with Legal, Commercial Finance, Risk and Engineering functions to build the offer;
- Present the summary of the offer to the Risk Review committee in order to obtain approval to present to the customer;
- Present the offer to the customer;
- Take responsibility for drafting and negotiating the commercial and technical terms (this will include close coordination with Sales, Technical Operations and other departments);
- Manage the release of signed contracts to the Project Management and Parts & Maintenance teams.
- Business trips in Europe, USA and Asia are to be foreseen.
- Many business trips are to be foreseen in Sub Sahara Africa and mostly in Nigeria
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Commercial or engineering background
- Experience in negotiating terms and conditions
- Enthusiasm for technology
- Fluency in English and another foreign language
- Commercial and negotiation skills
