Position Title: Workshop Technician (Special Process)

Role Summary/Purpose:
The Workshop Technician(Special Process) will have primary responsibility for operating and maintaining specialized equipment utilized in Plasma and HVOF Coating.This role is within the Repair Services Segment of the GE Power & Water - PGS Business. The Service Centre is situated in Port Harcourt.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensure required quality is delivered on all processed customer hardware
- Ensure all tasks are carried out with adherence to relevant Work Instructions and EHS requirements
- Set up and operate coating cell per scheduled sequence, process sheets, work instructions and customer requirement(s)
- Conduct / perform qualitative evaluation of samples
- Record all necessary process and quality documentation accurately, timely, routinely and as specified
- Formulate and conduct qualitative evaluations of coating(s) / adhesive(s) per formulation and quality criteria
- Conduct standard routine maintenance as required to ensure machinery cleanliness and reliability
- Assist maintenance technician in the execution of all regularly scheduled Preventive Maintenance requirement and all repairs necessary due to breakdown or malfunction
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Electrical or Mechanical background, HNC/HND at a minimum
- A good communicator who is willing to work as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and HSE focused
- Strong Oral & Written Communication
- Excellent Planning & Organization skills
- Flexibility: Successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions
- Able to process products in accordance with engineering part specifications and assembly procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Must have prior experience working in a manufacturing / Production Environment
