Role Summary/Purpose:
The General Mechanic will have primary responsibility for disassembly, repair and assembly of Gas Turbine Components including Oil & Gas Offshore Compressor Components.
This role is within the Repair Services Segment of the GE Power & Water - PGS Business. The Service Centre is situated in Port Harcourt.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assemble or dismantle components using proper techniques in accordance with procedures
- Dismantle and sand blast various equipment
- Visually inspect and clean equipment
- Assemble various configurations of components to corresponding assembly prints utilizing available tooling, gauging and equipment
- Operate hand grinder, ban saw and other electric tools
- Capable of accurately reading micrometers, gauges and calipers
Qualifications/Requirements:
- OND in Mechanical Engineering/Technical College certification
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- A good communicator who is willing to work as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and HSE focused
- Able to process products in accordance with engineering part specifications and assembly procedures
- Must have prior experience working in a manufacturing / Production Environment
