GE is recruiting to fill the below position of:

Job Title: General Mechanic

Job Number: 1756514
Location: Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Role Summary/Purpose:
The General Mechanic will have primary responsibility for disassembly, repair and assembly of Gas Turbine Components including Oil & Gas Offshore Compressor Components.
This role is within the Repair Services Segment of the GE Power & Water - PGS Business. The Service Centre is situated in Port Harcourt.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assemble or dismantle components using proper techniques in accordance with procedures
  • Dismantle and sand blast various equipment
  • Visually inspect and clean equipment
  • Assemble various configurations of components to corresponding assembly prints utilizing available tooling, gauging and equipment
  • Operate hand grinder, ban saw and other electric tools
  • Capable of accurately reading micrometers, gauges and calipers

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • OND in Mechanical Engineering/Technical College certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • A good communicator who is willing to work as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and HSE focused
  • Able to process products in accordance with engineering part specifications and assembly procedures
  • Must have prior experience working in a manufacturing / Production Environment
