IITA is an international non-profit research-for-development (R4D) organization created in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and supported primarily by the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow (Cowpea)

Position/Responsibilities:
- Drought resistance evaluation and analysis of mechanism
- Low P resistance evaluation and analysis of mechanism
- Insect resistance evaluation and analysis of mechanism though there is some flexibility of the activity depending on the speciality.
- Engage in monitoring and evaluating progress against project milestones and impact indicators in above Action Area.
- Research planning and design for related theme.
- Report Action Area activities within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan reporting templates.

Educational Qualifications:
- The candidate must have a PhD in Plant physiology, soil science or entomology or related field and three years experience.
Core Competencies:
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Good knowledge of Japanese is required for the project report has to write in Japanese.
- Working knowledge of Sub-Saharan Africa.
