We are recruiting to fill the following position:

Responsibilities
  • Build pro active safety culture that delivers a world-class Safety and Environmental performance anchored on Goal Zero:
  • Provide and manage SE integration in Production operations especially worksite hazards,process safety and safe systems of work/personal safety
  • Manage contractors and and apply lateral learning across UIO Operated.
  • Monitor,review and report SE performance including main contractors and subcontractors to achieve the performance commitments.
  • Drive compliance with UIOG/EP standards and procedures,local and SE regulations.
  • Implement and maintain SE MS and SE Cases in all the facilities in the Production Area.
  • Maintain ISO 14001/ OHSAS 18001 certification activities in the team.
  • Coordinate HSE performance critical review and support SE assurance process.
  • Test and maintain Area Emergency response procedure and plans.
  • Develop and Deliver SE trainings for staff and contractors to ensure practices are in full compliance to the safe systems of work at site. These trainings include Site SE Induction,PTW,Confined Space,Unsafe Acts Auditing,Fire Fighting,Use of PPE,Waste Management & Handling of Chemicals.
  • Assess and close gaps for staff in HSE critical positions
  • Coordinate Fountain action close and report progress weekly.

Requirements
  • Science or Engineering degree.
  • At least 10 years experience in EP industry.
  • Prior experience in Shell Nigeria and working in the Niger Delta is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of EP business risks an essential controls to mitigate risks.
  • Evidence of hands on (can do) - understand and implement EP & Industry HSE policies, strategies and standards to achieve goal
  • Skilled in HSSE risk Management Framework
  • Skilled in HEMP and Safe Systems of work including Technical and Process Safety
  • Knowledge of Auditing, Environmental quality standards, Environmental laws regulations and permits
  • Skilled in analysing and solving problems, communicating and persuading and being personally creative and innovative
  • Skilled at team working, managing Business interfaces and working and embedding change
  • Effective people and communication skills
