Job Description
  • The primary purpose is to provide device management, quality assurance and service testing support.
  • The incumbent will also be expected to interface with the backend technical support teams as may be required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive mobile device profile management.
  • Add new device groups or device models to the portal.
  • Update user agents for old device models.
  • Perform and adhere to what is outlined in the test strategy and test plan.
  • Execute test cases, record results and report progress.
  • Incorporate test results and changes/defect into test case.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements where necessary.
  • Review requirements and design document and ensure they are understood.
  • Lead the creation of device test plans.
  • Create test cases that trace back to requirement and design.
  • Perform a smoke test of the environment to ensure it is set up accurately to test against requirement.
  • Prepare test data to use during execution.
  • Effectively record defects that are easily communicated and understood.
  • Incorporate changes that have been made into the applications testing documentation.
  • Re-use existing testing documentation for new projects/releases.
  • Execute according to the test schedule and escalate if deviations are foreseen or occur.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support, to the subordinates.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of First degree in Electronic or Computer Science or any other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years direct experience as a test analyst for major application integration and/or major application product release in Telecom and VAS industry is key.
  • Hands on experience at administering a device management platform is key.
  • Adequate understanding of basic web technologies (FTP, browsers, basic HTML, data files, etc.).
  • Strong competency and comfort with developing reports and analyzing large sets of data.
  • Experience in VAS Messaging, Apps, Web, Data Warehousing and Cloud concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Certified Big Data Management is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of support activities in Cloud environment.
  • Proven experience in execution of software testing solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality control best practices and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of a vast array of the industry devices and mobile OS domain is desirable.
  • Direct experience as a test analyst for major application integration and/or major application product release.
  • Organizational skills to manage a wide array of testing information.
  • Effective communication skills - verbal & written.
  • Strong with details, structured work, and processes.
  • Result-driven orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suites.
  • Sound relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organizational requirements.
  • Understanding of, and ability to work with policies and procedures of an organization.
