Job Description
- Ensures that safe working practices are carried out within the construction team and the contractors by enforcing Company HSE policies.
- Responsible for carrying out the whole process of project construction upon receipt of notification approved for job implementation.
- Ensures that all works allocated to Construction Department are timely executed with emphasis on HSE, Quality and approved budget.
- Organises and optimizes Departmental resources to ensure that work is performed such that the outcomes are consistent with the statements of requirements.
- Follows up with the preparation, review and approval of studies, CFT dossiers, during the tendering stages as it applies to notifications.
- Ensures clear contract strategy is established for jobs in conjunction with Contract duet after consulting the DGM, DW ECP.
- Checks and ensures that due process is followed in the selection of competent contractors to perform assigned works.
- Plans and supervises the successful execution of the jobs using Company approved local Contractors.
- Ensures that engineering studies/designs are properly done to guarantee constructability at the implementation phase and to ensure compliance with all the Company rules and Nigerian regulations.
- Ensures that technical specifications and scope of work are clear and well understood by all concerned to avoid mistakes/delays at the implementation phase.
- Monitors and records the HSE performance to ensure that annual HSE objectives are duly fulfilled.
- Ensures the availability of the materials to be used for all allocated jobs using stock, local market and overseas suppliers
- Plans and organises various works supervision and vendors’ offshore mobilization to ensure that works are executed optimally.
- Ensures that as-built dossiers are collated including all signed off QA/QC documents and copies issued to the DW ECP Engineering team for document mark up and update if required prior to uploaded into PRODOM by the Document control team.
Qualifications
- Good university degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years active experience in Oil & Gas construction activities
- Must be hardworking, dedicated, proactive, positive minded, disciplined and trustworthy
