Job Description
- Operate radio equipment in order to communicate with ships, medic, offshore fields, and emergency team
- Monitors security and safety incidents and movement of the vessel during convoy, interfield field trips, specific escort through HF/VHF/ SAT Communications Network
- Advises users of the VHF/HF Network to comply with standard procedures of communications and provides guidance when deemed necessary;
- Conduct periodic equipment inspections and routine tests in order to ensure that operations standards are met.
- Conduct weekly communication tests with all vessels working for COMPANY.
- Coordinate radio-related aspects of locating and contacting ships that are missing or in distress
- Monitor emergency frequencies in order to detect distress calls and report in real time to Sec Cons & Sec Sup.
- Carry handle radio or MOC radio GSM for compulsory absence of the radio room which must be as short as possible. Such an absence has to be motivated
- Ensure working station is operational - All communication means operational (VHF - HF -VSAT/IMMARSAT - Phone - email system. Report any lapses.
- Emergency battery power supplying condition
- Radios with volume audible - set up on right frequency
- Radio check to be logged following the day/night schedule. When a boat or Field security teams do not respond, confirm her position on VMAS If no result, inform security representative on site and MOC: this situation has to be considered as an emergency.
- Inform security vessel when operations start and finish.
- Ensure all vessels (supply + security) part of the inbound movement from Offshore to ONNE report departure time. Report in real time to Sec Cons & Sec Sup
- Ensure by radio and VMAS watch that all vessels (supply + security) planned to reach COMPANY field (refers convoy orders) use the proper maritime corridor and respect arrival procedure
- Regular radio contact with all vessels operating within the field (every 2 hours during the night, 4 hours during the day).
Qualifications
- Maritime & Navigation knowledge
- Use and set DSC Marine VHF radio
- Radar/ARPA/AIS Training with excellent operating experience would be appreciated
- GMDSS General Operators Certificate
- CAA Radio Operators Certificate or (VHF Airband Operator)
- CAA Offshore Meteorological Observer Certificate or equivalent would be appreciated
- Advanced use and set maritime surveillance radar would be appreciated
- English (reading, writing, speaking)

- Basic HSE knowledge
- Work in autonomy
- Minimum one year of experience as a radio operator
- Proficient with MS Word Microsoft Office and Excel software PowerPoint

- At least 5 years of qualified radio/radar specialist position on navy ship, maritime vessels or offshore assets.
