Job Title: Team Lead, Fibre Support

Location: Lagos

Reporting To: Transmission Bearer Services Manager

Job Description:
  • To ensure that preventive maintenance and routine inspections of all fibre optics media routes are carried out.
  • Oversee and coordinate all technical activities, activities of direct reports and ensure all transactions and administrative documentation is recorded and available for business use.
  • Coordinate the activities of Fiber Support Engineers in order to achieve unit / departmental objectives.
  • Supervise vendors’ performance and ensure compliance of contractors/vendor/third party to SLAs.
  • Assist in providing high level support to internal customers on optical fiber issues.
  • Coordinate the management and administration of NQMS Server, Remote Test Units and Software.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance operations on optical fiber infrastructure network.
  • Oversee the preparation of optical infrastructure performance reports.
  • Validate optical infrastructure deployment plans and coordinate the activities of the unit in planned works for network improvement.
  • Manage stakeholders and ensure their issues as they relate to optical infrastructure management are promptly resolved.
  • Supervise acceptance and testing of new fiber infrastructure and DWDM equipments.
  • Conduct training on DWDM and fiber infrastructure to internal units.
  • Oversee the execution of special projects as may be required.
Job Conditions: Normal MTNN working conditions. May be required to work extended hours.

Required Skills:
  • 3 years working experience on Fibre infrastructure maintenance
  • Sound knowledge of Fibre transmission DWDM is essential
  • Conversant with OTDR, Splicing Machines and various Fibre testing equipments

Qualification:
  • First degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering or its equivalent. Specialist certifications in Fibre transmission will be an added advantage.
