Job Title: Organisational Development Manager

Reports To: Head, Human Resources
Function: Corporate Services
Sub Function: Human Resources
Location: Corporate Head Office, Lagos

Purpose Statement:
Provide a proactive, value-added service to Air Nigeria on all matters pertaining to talent, learning, reward and performance management ensuring best practice standards of excellence and to promote an employer brand which is attractive to first class talent and promotes motivation and retention of Air Nigeria employees.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Contribute to the development of new policies and practices related to Talent, Learning and reward which addresses the unique needs of the business units, ensuring alignment with the overall HR strategy and changing business requirements.
  • Ensure and apply best practice standards in recruitment and selection activities by auditing current practices against predetermined measures and providing consultancy support and centrally-planned skills development training.
  • Manage the succession planning process aligned with the competencies and career path principles to assure the organization with the necessary flow of high potential individuals.
  • Develop preferred supplier relationships with leading sources i.e. Lagos Business School, NYSC, training schools and search firms to establish agreements to source new recruits and maintain a robust talent bank.
  • Develop, implement and monitor an efficient performance management process for staff, applying global initiatives.
  • Contribute to the design, articulation and implementation of the Company Learning strategy in line with the company’s strategic direction to build a Learning Organisation aligned to career paths, capabilities etc
  • Develop Learning plan, calendar, dashboard and metrics to deliver interventions arising from talent reviews, measure and track the progress delivery and impact of all projects, initiatives and work-streams.
  • Facilitate transparency and empowerment in reward practices through appropriate decision governance that clearly defines who is responsible for which reward decision in the organisation.
  • Lead the development of reward management capabilities across the area by developing a comprehensive reward communication and training strategy and plan that equips line and HR managers with the knowledge they require to make reward decisions and ensures employees are informed with regards to the reward strategy and supporting practices the company has selected.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

The position requires a HR professional with a university degree and a progressive experience of at least 6 years in a cognate field, 3 of which shows attainment of a broad knowledge of organisational development in a management role. The incumbent needs to be able to think strategically and be able to find solutions to address the unique needs in Air Nigeria.

  • Understanding of modern training and development principles, philosophies, methods and media and demonstrate an ability to apply these to the workplace.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR processes and practices.
