The Obafemi Awolowo University is a comprehensive public institution established in 1962 as The University of Ife. The University is situated on a vast expanse of land totaling 11,861 hectares in Ile-Ife, Osun State, southwest of Nigeria.

Requirements
Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer (Applied Geophysics Option) should possess a B.Sc (First Class or Second Class Upper) Degree and M.Sc Degree in applied Geophysics from a recognized University and must have registered for a Ph.D Degree programme in Applied Geophysics with research interest in the area of Electrical/Electromagnetics field. Evidence of scholarly publications in learned journals will be an advantage.

Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer (Sedimentary/Petroleum Geology Option) should have a B.Sc (First Class or Second Class) Degree and Master's Degree in Geology from recognized University and must have registered for a Ph.D programme in the respective field. Evidence of scholarly publications in learned journals will be an advantage.

Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer (Engineering Geology/Hydrogeology option) should have a B.Sc (First Class or Second Class) Degree and a Master's Degree in Geology from recognized University and must have registered for a Ph.D programme in the Hydrogeology field.
