We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sports Journalist

Job Purpose
  • The Sports Journalists are responsible for creating compelling sports news content for all the station’s bulletins, including specialist sports programming.
Responsibilities
  • Anchoring sports bulletins in studio
  • Reporting on major sports stories on location
  • Writing and producing video sports news items and scripts for running orders
  • Sourcing video and graphic content for sports stories, including SOTs and VOs
  • Carry out assigned roles during bulletins in the Programme Control Room (PCR) or on the newsroom floor as required
  • Set up and co-ordinate studio and external sports lives as required
  • Work closely with video editors and graphics to ensure content matches the look and feel of TVC sports content
  • Manage running orders for sports inserts and programmes
  • Execute other assigned duties as required
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Sports news presentation in studio and on location
  • Reporting compelling news stories
  • Sourcing stories and creating content for rolling bulletins
  • Meeting deadlines
  • Proof read all entries into the character generator to minimize on-air errors.

Critical Qualification/Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a television newsroom
  • Presentation skills
  • Strong journalist background
  • Great sports contacts
  • Advanced keyboard skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent Interpersonal Relations
  • Time Management Skills
  • Attention to detail
