Job Description
- The Project Safety Advisor is responsible for coordinating the safety resources.
- Mentor field Safety professionals.
- Coordinate multiple projects ensuring alignment with NPO SHE objectives.
- Deploy Project SHE Management resources and advises on Safety, Health and Environment issues.
- Identify issues related personnel capabilities relating to Safety and advise on issues management.
- Advise on improvements on personnel competencies.
- Engage with project on development on the pre-gate 2 safety deliverables.
- Sets expectations/defining process/input to staffing plan (Pre-Gate 2 involvement).
- Conduct periodic site assessments and evaluate Performance on all NPO projects.
- Analyses data and determines trends and root causes.
- Evaluate processes and advise Safety Manager on improvement
Required Skills/Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of projects, operations, facilities, safety and environmental requirements.
- Ability to work in harsh environments, in stressful situations, with ever changing priorities.
- Knowledge in M.S. Office applications (or equivalent) and database management, including IMPACT™ database and Global Share / eManual administration.
- Read, write, and speak fluent English, as required to function effectively within a project team.
- Demonstrated ability to develop successful working relationships with emphasis on interfacing and mentoring in a team environment.
- Knowledge for all OIMS Systems and Procedures.
- 8 to 15 years in positions related to construction Safety (Prefer previous experience with ESSO, MPN, Exxon, Mobil or ExxonMobil projects).
- Knowledge of facilities fabrication, construction, transportation, and pre-commissioning from a Safety perspective.
- Thorough knowledge of Safety standards, codes, and practices.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- High attention to detail, completeness and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and obtain consensus.
- Ability and desire to function in an integrated project team environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering + NEBOSH Diploma or CSP.
- 10-15 years in SHE management position, preferably in a project environment with ExxonMobil or other Major Operator in the Oil & Gas industry.
- University degree and/or technical diploma.
