Job Title: Project Supervisor

Locations:
(Maiduguri, Bama, Gwoza, Pulka, Damasak) - Borno; (Damaturu, Potiskum) - Yobe; and (Mubi) - Adamawa

About the Project
  • The Atiku Centre for Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development plans to start a new project funded by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in early 2018.
  • This project is focused on providing sustainable livelihoods skills and empowerment to IDPs, returnees and host community members in Borno, Adamawa, Gombe and Yobe state.
  • This is one year project with offices in Maiduguri, Yola, Damaturu and Mubi.
  • In application of our mission and vision, the Atiku Centre Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development was set up to provide a one stop shop for all development initiatives, utilizing our local knowledge and global expertise to study problems, develop solutions and prioritize the implementation of the solutions in the form of projects.
  • The centre currently implements a number of projects across the north east focusing on mitigating the impact of the insurgency on the lives of the people of the north east and Nigerians in general.
Description
  • This position is local position and opens to indigenous applicants, though preference will be given to staff who have lived or currently live in the specified locations.
Specific Job Functions
  • Manage project activities in the locations
  • Support beneficiaries and provide guidance through mentorship to cooperatives
  • Implement project work plans and review as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Establish and manage relations with stakeholders including project beneficiaries and gate keepers
  • Support the implementation of planned activities and be responsible for ensuring workshop attendance of beneficiaries assigned.
Requirements
  • A good First Degree in the Social Sciences, Pure and Applied Sciences from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Two (2) years project experience in local communities
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and computer knowledge
  • Experience working within community structures
  • Experience working with Women and the poor and marginalized
  • Ability to use computers and computer applications is a plus
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Good people management skills
  • Knowledge of Hausa language preferred.
