Katsina State is to create about 5,000 jobs next fiscal year through a new employment generation scheme known as S - Power, Governor Aminu Bello Masari, has disclosed.
Speaking when he received officials and members of a non-governmental organisation, 360 Plus One Network, on a solidarity visit in Katsina, Masari revealed that a large percentage of the beneficiaries would be drawn from the state indigenes engaged as casual workers under the previous administration.
According to him, some of the employees under casual scheme were recruited into the main stream of the state service as teachers during the recent recruitment of teachers.
The governor assured that his administration would continue to initiate measures to improve on the living condition of the citizens and for the rapid development of the state.
Earlier, the state chairman of the network, Murtala Ibrahim Kafur, appealed for more employment and empowerment opportunities for members of the group and others in the state for their immense contributions to the emergence of the present administration in the state and at the centre, while commending the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Masari.
