WAICA Reinsurance Corporation Plc is a public limited liability company incorporated under the laws of Sierra Leone (Companies Act 2009) on 7th March 2011.
In the years following the creation of West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA) in 1973, the founding fathers had the desire to establish a reinsurance organisation to help mitigate the effects of the lack of reinsurance capacity within the West African insurance industry.
We are seeking to employ a person who will work primarily at the Nairobi, Kenya Office in the position below:
Job Title: Chief Risk Officer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Key Responsibilities
- The Chief Risk Officer shall have primarily responsibility for the implementation. monitoring and maintenance of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in the company
- He /She shall he responsible for coordinating and facilitating Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
- He / She shall assist management and the board or audit committee in the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process by Monitoring, Evaluating, Examining, Reporting and Recommending improvements
- The Chief Risk Officer ‘s activity plan of engagement shall be based on the risk assessment, undertaken at least annually.
- He / She shall identify and assess risks relevant to the risk assessment and future objectives shall reflects the result of the risk assessment
- He / She shall evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls encompassing the company’s governance, operations. and information systems following the risk assessment
Qualifications
- Bachelor of science degree in any Social Science
- A Professional Qualification in Insurance or Accounting will be an added advantage
- At least 5 years post qualification experience in ERM or Similar Field
- Good organizational skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to expertly utilize technology to enhance efficiencies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse audiences
