We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: WPE Community Mobilization Assistant

Location
: Mubi, Adamawa State, North-Eastern Nigeria
Grade: 9A

Job Description

Awareness Raising:
  • Facilitate Trainings and sensitizations to the EMAP and action groups on GBV issues.
  • Raise awareness and promote changes in attitudes and behaviors regarding gender, gender equality and GBV.
  • Develop and implement prevention strategies.
  • Promote active community participation in prevention and response to GBV.
  • Promote the involvement of men and youth in GBV activities.
Community Mobilization:
  • Utilize participation methodology to assess community needs in relation to GBV. Utilize participatory methodology and adult education techniques to assist communities in developing community-driven prevention and response plans.
  • Mobilize community to form ‘action groups’ for awareness raising and encourage greater self-reliance among women in the communities.
  • Mobilize community to form VSLA groups and DGS groups.
  • Planning, collaboration and coordination
  • In collaboration with Ministry of women Affairs ensure the formation of GBV community committees.
  • In collaboration with WPE Case management assistants, identify training needs of community members and carryout trainings in a consistent and appropriate manner.
  • Liaise with community leaders, government agencies, IRC sectors and other partners to organize training and capacity building activities.
Reporting:
  • Compile and summarize weekly and monthly statistics and narratives reports and submit to WPE Program manager in a timely manner.
  • Properly file all reports in a safe and secure manner.
  • Financial
  • Ensure that receipts are submitted in a timely manner and are properly and completely filled out with relevant supporting documentations.
  • Monitoring
  • Follow-up on skills training and adult literacy materials and ensure that these materials are utilized appropriately and for the purpose for which they are intended
