The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is the independent regulatory agency mandated by Government to monitor and regulate the electricity industry in Nigeria. The Commission is committed to promoting and ensuring efficient market structures and an investor-friendly industry to meet Nigeria's need for safe, adequate, reliable and affordable electricity.

To drive the achievement this mandate, the Commission seeks to recruit qualified professionals for vacant positions in the Office of the Chairman and its 6 specialized Divisions.

NERC is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Analyst I - III, Non-Governmental Relations

Location:
Any City, Nigeria

Job Description
  • The Analyst, Non-Governmental Relations will be responsible for maintaining and leveraging relationships with key Non-Government stakeholders.
  • The job holder reports to the Deputy General Manager, Government External & Industry Relations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develops proposals for funding of Commission projects by international and local funding organization
  • Assists the Head of External and Industrial Relations to effectively engage with funding community and ensure that the Commission receives support for its regulatory activities
  • Facilitates the Commission's relationship with local and international NGOs and the international community
  • Assists in liaising with stakeholders on informational matters and Government policies
  • Assists in monitoring the activities of NGOs and other Associations
  • Collates and updates lists of all Stakeholders with their current phone numbers and addresses.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A first degree in any of the following disciplines Law,Economics,Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2-6 years post-graduation experience.
  • Fair knowledge of the electricity industry
  • Good knowledge of the workings of the international development agencies, NGOs etc.
  • Must be of good discipline with high integrity.
  • Able to communicate (both written and verbal) effectively.
  • Good knowledge of stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good organizational skills.
