The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is the independent regulatory agency mandated by Government to monitor and regulate the electricity industry in Nigeria. The Commission is committed to promoting and ensuring efficient market structures and an investor-friendly industry to meet Nigeria's need for safe, adequate, reliable and affordable electricity.

To drive the achievement this mandate, the Commission seeks to recruit qualified professionals for vacant positions in the Office of the Chairman and its 6 specialized Divisions.

NERC is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Analyst I - III, Secretariat

Job Description
  • The Analyst, Secretariat provides administrative support to the Secretariat.
  • The job holder reports to Assistant Manager, Secretariat.
Key Responsibilities
This person will assist in:
  • Arranging Board and Regulatory meetings of the Commission
  • Formatting and reviewing of board documents for meetings
  • Recording proceedings, developing minutes and resolutions from such meetings within the stipulated time-frame
  • Circulating copies of the minutes and resolutions
  • Handling correspondences with stakeholders & other external parties as requested by the Secretary to the Commission
  • Keeping track of hearings, resolutions and activities of the Commission and present regular report to the Secretary to the Commission on the accomplishment of the objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A first degree in Law, Social Sciences, Public Administration or Management.
  • A higher degree and/or possession of membership in a relevant professional body are additional advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 - 6 years post-graduation experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member with senior administration, and clerical staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to exercise appropriate independent judgement.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain a fast work pace, managing multiple priorities simultaneously often under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Excellent filing and document management skills.
