The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is the independent regulatory agency mandated by Government to monitor and regulate the electricity industry in Nigeria. The Commission is committed to promoting and ensuring efficient market structures and an investor-friendly industry to meet Nigeria's need for safe, adequate, reliable and affordable electricity.

To drive the achievement this mandate, the Commission seeks to recruit qualified professionals for vacant positions in the Office of the Chairman and its 6 specialized Divisions.

NERC is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Assistant Manager, Secretariat

Location:
Any City, Nigeria

Job Description
  • The Assistant Manager provides administrative support to the Secretariat. The job holder reports to the Head Secretariat.
Key Responsibilities
This person assists in:
  • Operating the registry of the Commission
  • Keeping proper filing system for the Commission in line with established policies and best practice
  • Developing requisite framework, polices and guidelines for effective functioning of the Registry
  • Providing administrative inputs for the Registry
  • Ensuring that the Commission has a reservoir of all the records of activities held within and outside the Commission
  • Handling the documentation of all yearly report/minutes of all activities of the Commission.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A first degree or its equivalent in Records/Information Management, Social/Management Sciences or allied discipline
  • A post graduate degree in Records management and/or possession of membership in a relevant professional body is additional advantage
  • Minimum of 6 years post-graduation experience preferably in records management of a public organization or corporation
  • Project Management Experience additional advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Assertive, yet with a mature and personable disposition
  • Resilient, with strong persuasion skills
  • Organized thinking, clear headedness; and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Focused, result oriented and personable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task; with strong organizational skills and planning skills
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent documentation and filing skills.
