The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is the independent regulatory agency mandated by Government to monitor and regulate the electricity industry in Nigeria. The Commission is committed to promoting and ensuring efficient market structures and an investor-friendly industry to meet Nigeria's need for safe, adequate, reliable and affordable electricity.

To drive the achievement this mandate, the Commission seeks to recruit qualified professionals for vacant positions in the Office of the Chairman and its 6 specialized Divisions.

NERC is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Manager, Social Media and Web Content

Location:
Any City, Nigeria

Job Description
  • The Manager, Social Media and Web Content will be responsible for managing the Commission’s social media strategy whilst providing rich content for the website.
  • The job holder reports to the Head, Public Communication.
Key Responsibilities
  • Works to deploy social media and content strategies with a focus on delivering consistent, creative and holistic social media presence for the Commission
  • Regularly delivers content via social networks (twitter, Facebook, etc.) to drive better awareness of the Commission's activities and increase engagement with publics
  • Seeks new and unique social media opportunities to achieve the Commission's goals and help build consensus
  • Works with other divisions to identify, schedule and post content through social media channels
  • Develops social media engagement metrics and prepare periodic social media status reports.
Web Content
  • Creates, develops, manages content for the Commission's website
  • Maintains consistency throughout the website and work with IT to maintain site standards
  • Tracks and reports website metrics
  • Maintains the electronic newsletter and online outreach campaign.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A first degree in any relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 9 years post-graduation experience
  • Proven experience in active participation in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, social bookmarking, commenting, etc.
  • Ability to contribute individually, and lead, manage or participate in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create great working relationships with all levels within the company and across multiple disciplines
  • Display expertise using social media tools and techniques
  • Fluency in social media and evidence of passion to communicate on that platform Able to think creativity
  • Strategic thinking and implementation
  • Good media relation skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Good analytical skills- ability to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable information.
