The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is the independent regulatory agency mandated by Government to monitor and regulate the electricity industry in Nigeria. The Commission is committed to promoting and ensuring efficient market structures and an investor-friendly industry to meet Nigeria's need for safe, adequate, reliable and affordable electricity.

To drive the achievement this mandate, the Commission seeks to recruit qualified professionals for vacant positions in the Office of the Chairman and its 6 specialized Divisions.

NERC is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Manager, Maintenance & Asset Mgt.

Job Summary:

The Manager Maintenance and Asset Management will be responsible for coordinating the maintenance and repairs of equipment, assets and properties of the Commission. The job holder reports to the Deputy General Manager Administration

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts inspections of Commission assets for needed services and repairs
  • Coordinates emergency and regular repairs and coordinate repairs to building and properties of the Commission
  • Maintains fire protection systems and equipment
  • Coordinates maintenance and repairs of structural, mechanical and electrical systems at the Commission.
  • Follows-up with maintenance service providers to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
  • Implements preventative maintenance programs

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • A general knowledge of the Commission’s mandate, and an intuitive ability for trouble shooting relating to mechanical and structural faults
  • Ability to detect, understand and interpret the nature of mechanical and structural faults in machines, equipment and furniture
  • Good knowledge of operations and functionality of office electronic equipment and machines
  • Ability to effectively keep track and record of maintenance schedule of office machines and equipment
  • Knowledge in operations, management and record keeping of inventory and store items
  • Must possess a curious disposition and drive towards problem solving

Educational / Professional Qualification(s)
  • A degree Engineering, Quantity Survey, Architecture
  • A post graduate diploma or degree in Business Administration/MBA will be an added advantage

Work Experience
  • Minimum of 9 years post qualification experience in the public or private sector, 5 of which should have been at senior level responsible for managing and overseeing the maintenance of assets of the organization
