Business Synergy is a management consulting firm dealing in strategy, innovation and global leadership and operates out of Lagos, Boston and Toronto. Our client, based in Lagos, Nigeria, is in the process of opening a guest house, restaurant and supermarket along with an event management and delivery operation.

Job Description
  • It seeks a supermarket operations manager, responsible for event sales, planning and management.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • A pleasant and friendly disposition, with a natural desire to serve;
  • Professional, calm, patient and can work well under pressure;
  • Leading effective teams, high energy and a positive attitude;
  • Experienced with sourcing and stocking of products
  • Monitor sales and enhance customer experience; handling complaints and feedback;
  • Event marketing, promotion and operation;
  • Excellent communication, numeracy and logistical planning skills;
  • Ensure that products are priced rightly, displayed appropriately and are in good condition.
  • Possess a welcoming demeanor and ready to assist with customer needs for assistance.
  • Instruct and guide sales, inventory, accounting and other staff towards meeting overall goals
  • Ensure that the supermarket is safe, healthy, secure and clean at all times
  • Plan and prepare work schedules and keep records of employees' work schedules and time cards. Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures for their department.
  • Inventory stock and reorder when inventory drops to a specified level.
  • Work with management to hire, develop and motivate staff.
  • Work with management to develop strategies to increase sales, expand markets, and promote the business.
  • Review inventory and sales records to prepare reports for management and budget departments.
  • Plan budgets and authorize payments and merchandise returns.
  • Check all products to determine that they are in good condition.
  • Estimate consumer demand and determine the types and amounts of goods to be sold. Keep records of purchases, sales, and requisitions.
  • Plan and coordinate advertising campaigns and sales promotions and prepare merchandise.
  • Formulate pricing policies for merchandise, according to profitability requirements.
  • Establish credit policies and operating procedure.
