Job Summary
  • The position is based in Monguno, Borno State and directly supervised by the FSL Officer-House Hold Economic Strengthening.
  • The FSL Assistant will support the implementation of FSL activities on household economic strengthening and income generation activities to achieve the specific objective of the EU project which is to improve nutrition security of conflict affected populations through uptake of critical household health and hygiene behaviors with the aim of providing primary health care, water, livelihoods sources, sanitation and hygiene services.
Task and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate community mobilization through economic empowerment program.
  • Perform household economic strengthening activities at the community level.
  • Organize meetings at local level for the beneficiaries and the program team and facilitate training on Income Generating Activities (IGA) interventions.
  • Mobilization and awareness raising about the organization, program objectives and activities to local authorities and the population, and act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries.
  • Collect information to ensure that the surveillance of the economic activity situation in the area of implementation of the program is achieving the expected result, when required.
  • Collect the required information in the field to facilitate the capacity building and training.
  • Contribute to the development of project community mobilisation strategies for targeting and registration of beneficiaries for the income generating activities interventions.
  • Implement field activities for targeted communities about economic recovery and strengthening household livelihood restoration activities with support from key stakeholders at the local level.
  • Support the verification of beneficiaries to ensure proper identification and selection of the most vulnerable population.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of National Diploma in Business Management, Economics or Accounting or any related fields with at least one year relevant work experience in a similar.
  • Have previous experience in the Cash, IGA, FSL and extension approach.
  • Have good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy.
  • Have Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Ability and capacity to be adaptable and flexible.
  • Fluency in Hausa, English
  • Excellent inter personal and communication skills.
