Job Title: Deputy Regional M&E Coordinator

Location
: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Summary
  • The position is based in Maiduguri, Borno and directly supervised by the Regional M&E Coordinator.
  • This Deputy Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator will support the M&E Regional Coordinator in providing technical oversight of Action Against Hunger’s monitoring and evaluation activities in North-eastern Nigeria.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Support the M&E Regional Coordinator in development of appropriate and rigorous M&E system to guide project start-up, implementation, adjustment, accountability and learning in compliance with Action Against Hunger’s M&E guidelines and minimum requirements.
  • Support the M&E team in the documentation, tracking and follow up of lessons learnt and recommendations from all assessments conducted in the region.
  • Provide support for capitalization, learning and reporting of all projects activities in the mission in the region.
  • Support the use of data collection, mobile data collection systems, electronic voucher system and other technologies to strengthen monitoring and reporting of activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive M&E plans for each project to capture quantitative and qualitative data for project performance tracking and reporting.
  • Organize and coordinate mid-term reviews, learning workshops/review of program work plans with program team at field level and other stakeholders.
  • Participate with the Regional M&E Coordinator in the implementation activities that build the capacity of team members through training, mentorship and coaching to ensure quality control of monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Work closely with grants, reporting and knowledge management team across the mission to enhance systems for project documentation and archiving.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies International Relations, Mathematics or Computer Science, with relevant experience in information management including the use of GIS in emergency or development sector.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience working with NGOs covering multi-sectoral programming.
  • Proven management and coordination skills (HR, projects, and stress management).
  • Previous experience in a technical advisory role in monitoring and results management.
  • Proven ability to write reports, create management information systems for large amounts of data within a complex program and use of mobile data collection system.
  • Experience in translating analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategy.
  • Knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative data management techniques including proficient and skillful use of SPSS, STATA, EXCEL, Epi-info softwares.
  • Experience in project monitoring and evaluation with emphasis on activity monitoring, data management including data collection, analysis and storage.
  • Experience with market-based emergency response (ex. Cash Transfers, EMMA) and understanding of Social Behavior Change and nutrition sensitive programming.
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
